Ben je lid van de EOR (Europese Ondernemingsraad) en/of als FNV-kaderlid betrokken bij onderwerpen als klimaat of sociale aspecten van de Europese Unie? Dan zijn de trainingen van de ETUI, het European Trade Union Institute, wellicht iets voor jou. De voertaal is Engels of Frans.
De ETUI is een onafhankelijk onderzoeks- en trainingscentrum van de Europese Federatie van Vakbonden (ETUC), een paraplu organisatie voor Europese vakbonden. De FNV is daar ook onderdeel van. Al het onderzoek en alle trainingen zijn gericht op het versterken van vakbonden en van de sociale aspecten van de Europese Unie.
ETUI organiseert diverse trainingen voor kaderleden. Een groot deel daarvan heeft te maken met het werk van Europese Ondernemingsraden; in het Engels is dat de European WorkCouncils (EWC’s). Ook andere thema’s zoals bijvoorbeeld klimaat en sociale rechten kunnen aan bod komen.

This is probably the most important training that every EWC delegate should attend at least once in their EWC career: it empowers the basic attitude of increasing the awareness of EWC rights. Knowing it, the EWC members can successfully defend their rights and improve performance of their EWC.
The main objective of the seminar is improvement in EWC access to training. Picking a practice area from the set of rights stemming from the Directive and the EWC agreement, we will focus on the right to training, taking it as an example of how should we approach the management within this topic.
‘Right to training’ is tackled for the first time, is one of the basic EWC rights given by the Directive. In the training seminars forthcoming after this one, we will focus on enforcing different EWC rights and strategies of challenging management if EWC operates in uncooperative relation.

Deze training is bedoeld voor nieuw gekozen EWC-leden (Europese Ondernemingsraad).
Inhoud: This training course aims to strengthen the capacity of European Works Councils by providing onboarding training to the newly elected delegates. A clear introduction to the goals of EWCs/SE-WCs, roles and duties of the delegate, and the primary task of EWC is the key leverage that accelerates the effectiveness of EWC as a whole. On top of that, this training allows to understand better the legal framework described simply, and get orientation in the complexity of industrial relations, allowing to participate in EWC operations without losing motivation at the start. The training hopes to help new EWC delegates overcome the shock that often accompanies them in the first years of their mandate.
Every EWC, as a democratic structure, undergoes periodic renewal of its membership; this is why the new EWC members need to be trained. New EWC members help to increase the impact that EWC inflicts on the decision-making process in multinational companies, thus equalizing the power balance a little bit more on the employee side. By increasing the efficiency of their mandate and bringing new members up to speed, we are strengthening democracy@work and employee participation at the EU level.
Doelgroep: This training is offered to new members of EWC and SE-WC bodies. EWC members who would like to refresh their knowledge may also be accepted. This training is targeted to UNI Europa and its affiliates, only EWCs cooperating with UNI Europa may be accepted (service sector).
